By listening to my sad tale with apparently genuine compassion and then changing my return ticket to Seattle with no charge, the nice lady at Air France made my day today.
I got nothing else to say. Thanks Air France. Whew.

Air France is AMAZING! We purchased tickets for our daughter who in the end could not join us to Paris last summer. The US offices were telling us we could only get a credit balance with them in her name only (she’s a minor), minus fees and it had to be used within 2 years. When we arrived in Paris we went to their kiosk and they processed a full credit minus the small fee to our credit card. They were so polite, accommodating and friendly.
