EDGES OF BOUNTY Celebration Dinner at Volunteer Park Cafe
with Photographer Scott Squire and Author William Emery

Join local photographer Scott Squire and writer William Emery of the book EDGES OF BOUNTY: Adventures in the Edible Valley for dinner! Their book explores and celebrates the people living, working, and growing food in California’s Central Valley.

As eating organic and local goes main stream, EDGES OF BOUNTY takes a step back, to honor and showcase the people who don’t see farming, living off the land and being locavores as a trend to follow, but a way of life. Squire and Emery have brilliantly captured their adventure and the characters they encountered along the way through a collection of fine art documentary photos and literary essays.

Join us Thursday January 29th 2009 for a five-course locavore dinner paired with local wines in celebration of this beautiful and inspiring book. Squire and Emery will be on hand to give a brief talk and slideshow presentation and each guest will receive a signed copy of EDGES OF BOUNTY.

William Emery grew up on a small farm in the Smoky Hills of Kansas. He is currently working on a novel, a collection of prose poetry, and a children’s book.

Scott Squire, a fourth generation Seattleite, is a documentary photographer working at the intersection of journalism, anthropology, and fine art. He is a principal at NonFiction Media, a social justice oriented multimedia production company based in Seattle.

Dinner begins at 7pm. Cost is $75/person (excluding tax and gratuity) and includes all food, wine, and a copy of the book. Call Volunteer Park Cafe for reservations at (206) 328- 3155.
