First Look Into The Classroom

Yesterday we got the chance to enter the classrooms to take still and moving pictures of the LSF girls at Takshashila Academy, an up and coming school in Kathmandu. It also houses the offices of LSF and it where we meet with Ramesh and Nutan, the LSF staff.

Small. The classrooms were small. Like cramped. Each room has one whiteboard and it is clearly a textbook driven curriculum. I could see the girls were thrilled that we were there to take their pictures. They were pretty good about keeping it cool. We would enter the room and they would smile our way, then fastidiously write in their notebooks or raise their hand or shake/ waggle their heads “yes” in agreement with the teacher (The ‘shake the head “yes”‘ movement is really growing on me. At first it was confusing, and now I love it.)
